Feedback from participant at Royal College of GP’s talk on 'LGBTQ+ Mental Health and Ethnicity'
Kuch completed his medical training in 2005 and went on to specialise in psychiatry. He became a consultant psychiatrist for people with intellectual disabilities in 2016 and worked in the NHS until 2024 when he decided to leave medicine to pursue a creative career.
He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness and his psychiatric practice was informed by systemic and psychodynamic psychotherapy.
He has postgraduate certificates in positive psychology and coaching (University of East London), and teaching for health care professionals (University of Bristol).
Kuch is passionate about reducing systemic inequalities in mental health treatment and believes that there is much to be done to reduce barriers to access and improve the physical health of those experiencing mental illness.
He is an experienced educator and public speaker and uses these platforms to promote better care for those experiencing mental illness.
Kuch is no longer a practicing psychiatrist but he continues to work in mental health and wellbeing spaces.
He is keen to take his clinical experience into his art practice and is open to collaboration or consultation work.
