When I Am Laid (2021)


When I made this, I was thinking about the idea of intimacy between men. How men can touch each other - have skin to skin contact - without it feeling dangerous or threatening. 

My research led me to looking at physical contact in sport. I created this video as a documentation of that research. It is amorphous and hard to work out - because that is what contact between men can feel like. I added my version of the song ‘When I Am Laid’ because somehow that felt right.
