Artist Statement

"...we have forgotten how to dream..."

I am an interdisciplinary artist who is interested in memory, time and ideas about belonging and fitting in. I am also facinated by desire and how it is both present and absent in our everyday lives. My work often circles back to photography and film as imperfect narrators of the past but I also use paint, music and text to articulate my work.

My practice is influenced by my work as a psychiatrist, a job that gave me a deep and particular understanding of the influence of our early lives on the the things that can keep us stuck as adults.

I have a first-class BA in Creative Arts and an MSc in Creative Technologies (Distinction). I am no longer practicing as a psychiatrist.
